Ian Coombes Ltd has developed a solid background in pool chemistry and is able to offer an extensive range of pool chemicals catering for the residential customer right through to bulk supply for the commercial operation.

Sodium Hypochlorite - water disinfection
Sodium Hypochlorite is a clear yellowish liquid containing 13.5-17% available chlorine. It has several advantages over granulated type chlorine for the following reasons:

It is not volatile like other chlorine, therefore it is safer to handle and store.
It has a higher pH than other oxidisers, and in most instances means less pH correction. If correction is necessary and you use a stabiliser, the same chemicals are used for Sodium Hypochlorite as for Calcium Hypochlorite.
No mixing is required by the operator, therefore it can be dosed directly into a pool or in a diluted form. It is compatible with all dosing methods and equipment.

We recommend that a type of chemical dosing pump be used which complies with the NZ Standard for Swimming Pools. If the dosing pump is suitable in most cases the pump suction line can be placed directly into the Sodium Hypochlorite storage container or storage tank. This further reduces safety, time and handling problems.
Sodium Hypochlorite has no residue content to dispose of. This also reduces wear and maintenance on chlorination and filtration equipment.
Sodium Hypochlorite is more readily available and is a New Zealand made product and it is now very competitively priced.

Over the last 23 years we have been marketing Sodium Hypochlorite. Most pool operators in the Lower North Island and the South Island have enjoyed the above benefits.

We can deliver by tanker from 200 to 4000 litre deliveries. We can also supply in 20 litre containers.

Poolzyme
ICL Poolzyme is a natural enzyme based formula now available from Ian Coombes Limited. By simply adding ICL Poolzyme to the water it reduces unpleasant odours, scum build up, black scumline rings and keeps the water silky smooth.

This concentrated formula breaks down suntan oils, cosmetics, body fats, wastes and other organic compounds that contaminate your pool. ICL Poolzyme works with all sanitizers, keeping your pool water clean and sparkling. ICL Poolzyme reduces eye and skin irritations. Organic contaminants that combine with sanitizers and other irritants are naturally biodegraded, reducing the factors that may cause skin and eye irritations.

ICL Poolzyme also acts as a continuous "filter cleaner" by breaking down oils and other organic compounds that can clog filters and reduce efficiency, meaning filters run longer between backwashing and cleaning. Save time and money on filter repairs, maintenance, cleaners and other chemicals. ICL Poolzyme contains natural enzymes, botanical extracts and other 100% biodegradable ingredients and as such, no emergency first aid is required if ingested.

Enzymes are large protein molecules, natural non-living biological catalysts. They safely speed up the break down of organic materials thousands of times. The automatic dosage dispenser has been engineered to dispense ICL Poolzyme liquid accurately, utilising a simple cost effective design. By adding small amounts of enzymes many times throughout the day rather than large doses less often, pools and spas will experience Poolzyme maximum performance. Programmable cycles allow for dosage rates from a few mls up to 254 litres per day. Easy to set, plug in or hard wired. The model 300 pump head features sophisticated peristaltic technology for long pump tube life.

Chemical Storage
Ian Coombes Ltd has a range of specially designed chemical storage containers to suit individual requirements. The containers have been manufactured in natural polyethylene which is compatible with chlorine, acids and alklis.
